Consider my web designer/usability hat now firmly on, so I have to give feedback! I like it! New features, nicer layout. Cool! However 2 things I immediately noticed. 1- Text size a bit too large for my liking. I've actually turned down the font size in my browser to make it smaller 2 - There should be lines (table borders) on topic lists. For usability purposes a line helps differentiate a long list of topics, and helps match up the topic, name, etc... This is doubly important as you have vertical lines of colour as well. Any chance of losing the grey page backgrounds? Apart from that, it's cool! I like. ![[Big Grin]](images/icons/grin.gif)

I actually like the bigger font size. Though sitting infront of the TV or computer my whole life has damaged my vision quite a bit ![[Smile]](images/icons/smile.gif)

Another thing i like is how it shows the recently visited people. Lurkers beware, we're on to you! quote: originally posted by NYC:
It looks pretty slick. Except for the "rate member" stuff. I'm a HS teacher, I don't need people telling me that they hate me during my spare time too. It could get ugly...
I don't know about the ratings system either... I've gotten into arguments with so many people i've lost track... [ 04 April 2002, 21:39: Message edited by: phunky ]

Probably cause I could not properly understand the whole thing but anyway, here is my feedback and my questions a) the design in general is very pleasant allthough I agree with the lines to mke the difference b) how does this member rate system goes ??? what is this ? How many people like you ? or it is related to something else ? ... hmmm... looking forward to getting used to this and feeling "at home" again... and also c) Malcolm ... when on earth did you find the time to do all that with your wedding and all ? ![[Wink]](images/icons/wink.gif) you truely are amazing !!!!!!! shine on Cass [ 04 April 2002, 23:56: Message edited by: Cassandra ]

still looking around and trying to see what's new and all : I like the fact that you welcome the newest people on HoP I like the preview post thing ![[Smile]](images/icons/smile.gif) [LIST] Malcolm ... you are member number 2 ... gee ... who's number 1 ? ... and thinking of "the prisonner"... who is member number 6 ??? And just my opinion : Everyone is 5 stars even if we can't love everyone the same and even if sometimes we simply don't like some members ... yes, I know it sounds cheesy but I mean it I don't quite understand the login thing... what is the use ? why and when log out ? sorry, again this is the one and only BB I am part of, so I am not familiar with all that. shine on Cassandra

heh- this is pretty cool. I think i could get used to it.
Not sure about the member rating though- but I like the member Number instead of the post count.
Also the instant UBB code is rockin.
Cheers Malcolm, well done.

Oh wait! now that I'm looking at it- The 'todays active posts' section has REALLY TINY FONT. I can read it still, barely, but I have to squint. I think that the old list of post titles was better. Just a little constructive crit- Malcolm, I think you've done wonders with the site already. OH! and is there anyway you could put a spell-check on the board as a UBB tool. That would Rock. N8

I am going to agree with Nomad on this one, while there are features I like, overall I am not fond of this new change. The lines gave definition to the posts, especially the thread listings, which all seems to run together now, and will get difficult to read when "raver-ease" kicks back into gear. The "important" buttons seemed to shrink too much (post topic/reply, search....). I agree with Peregrine that the forwarding wasn't working for me either. I am also inclined, like Nomad, to not like the place listings at the bottom, the numbering (I am already identified by being a number waaaaay too much) and such. I like the UBB listings, but find it tedious to use since it is beneath the reply area. On other boards it is to the left, so this is relatively new to me. On the good side, I do like the instant message this person function as well as the listing who is on currently, though sometimes I would much rather lurk than be known (no, I don't always open my mouth! ![[Razz]](images/icons/tongue.gif) ) It is similar enough that getting used to it won't be too hard, however, I feel that the last time improvements were made and the board was upgraded it was far more to the benefit than this time. However Malcolm, as always, I support your endeavors and applaud your hard work and effort! Much love

::Jacob walks in and almost falls over. Gathers himself and takes an astonished look around ![[Confused]](images/icons/confused.gif) :: Hmm. This is interesting. It will take some getting used to, but it works. I completely forgot that Malcolm was going to change the BB! I wonder if you can space things out in the middle. Sure would help with all those "technical drawings" that seem to pop up. I wonder how this rating thing is going to work out. Should be fun for sh!ts and giggles. I'm sure that there are some people out there who aren't terribly fond of me. Oh, well. I'm fair game. I do kind of like knowing who is on the board. It is really convenient. Guess it's time to go browse and get used to all this. And I'm down with Cantus. Having the instant UBB does kind of take the fun out of it, but I guess it will make it more convenient for everyone else. And I was just getting the hang of it. Darn! ![[Roll Eyes]](images/icons/rolleyes.gif)

DOH! Look at this stupidity. My first daggum post in the new BB and I already manage to post twice. I blame my lazy browser's refresh rate! It's not my fault! ![[Razz]](images/icons/tongue.gif) LOL! I guess you still can't draw. Oh, well. Back to the...errmm...drawing board?? [ 05 April 2002, 06:06: Message edited by: glowshow ]

You've got a drawing board? Where did you get that from. I'm always the last to know about these things. Took me ages to find where they were giving out the newbie trampolines (haven't seen one of those for a while....) and there was Bendy having his own trumpet and there were lollypops....

ANother board just recently put up the "who's here" list... and if you want to lurk, you can always log out... I like teh gray background, personally. it's restful on teh eyes. just my $0.02
