But you wouldn't be there by yourself, we'd all be there too and some of us are really quite open, friendly and chatty. But not me, I'm the moppy bastard in the corner who won't let anyone borrow his equipment. Get awf mai land!

Helloo aaallll,

SmallBoy I want your job, what ever it is, I don't care, I'm just not getting enough HOP time at work [Big Grin]

Don't know the official name of the Clapham Common ting, but did notice the other day that it works out quite well as 'SICC' or 'SOCC.' - Spinning in or on Clapham Common. But check with Dom, he de man on dis.

Ahh Mr Fire, thank you, both for putting the music together, and for keeping your clothes on [Big Grin] Thinking about it, nudity should classify under both meteor and staff, (and Poi for the ladies perhaps,) even before you pick up your equipment as it were. [Eek!] (Ahh, quick thought - on the CD could you avoid (I know, I'm sorry) anything too offensive, just that we're attracting kids and members of the public... (SorrE.) But really really nice one for the effort.)

Ahh, while we're on it, and it can't happen tonight but... We're definitely going to have a... a... Classical evening!!!!!!!!! I know I know, please don't all cheer at once, and I know it's a lovely blouse that I'm wearing. But seriously, it can be so cool. The ups, the downs, changes in tempo. -It'll do wonders for your ability to improvise/ to not get stuck in a rut simply because it can be so changeable.) Had a bit of a spin to Vivaldi's Four Seasons (at an open-air concert that Carrey dragged me to (bitch! Stop improving my life!!))a bit ago and, well, it… just… has… to… happen.

News of the week - the bladers have moved their night to another (Monday I think) so we could move to the other end of the market. Good points are - larger, flatter space and further from the bar [Smile] . Bad points are - further from the bar [Razz] Ooo, and with that flatter space, if anyone fancies joining me - if we are at that end tonight I’ll be bringing my blades for a bit of RollerPoiBoyJoy (hey, didn’t expect that to work.) S’great fun if you can manage it, and it’s probably easier than it might sound – your brain can’t process both at the same time so you just go with it. The results are great fun.

Don't know what to do about this but I'm up for suggestions - some people would prefer not to have the potential onlookers, and others quite like the blend we have of Poi and sociability. Hmm, we'll see tonight, and we can always change back.

FunkE then, ahh, last thoughts –
Lolli, yay, great to see you again last week. Think you said something about going on holiday (?) but if so/ not, hope you’ll be back.
HerbyBiscuits - good man!! Nice one for making it down, always the more the merrier, and I’m really hoping you’ll be making it merrier tonight.
AliBird – Sorry you and yo man can’t make it tonight, but there will be others, ohohoho yeesss... And yay for Hazel!!
Hazel!! Yay!!! You're cool (but I can't stand your in friends [Razz] )
Stickman!! Where are yooouuu? Still haven’t been able to make a funky set of small Poi for yours yet but it is going to happen, and in the mean time we have enough toys and moves to keep her entertained/ confused for hours (if not days.)

So, Happy TuesdaE y’all.

Hope it all goes off well tonight [Big Grin] I must admit I quite like being near the bar but as long as we can still go and get drinks from it(?) I don't think anyone will mind!

Stickman is in Spain at the moment at the Benicassim festival (if we are talking about the same guy!) but I'm sure he'll show his face in the next couple of weeks!

After you left last night SpaceMonkE I had my first go with fire and it ROCKED! I've gotta get me some paraffin! (And some covers for my now very sooty staff ends [Big Grin] )

see you next week!

Ali xx

Didn't make it, went on a mission to steal my brother's X-Box instead, so that's me gone for a few weeks!

Ali-bird, cool to be at your (and so many others!) fire baptism! To be honest, I didn't realise it was your first time as normally people don't spin that confidently first time. Looked very good!

See you all next week! Or Sunday at Clapham Common!

[Big Grin] thanks Dom, that's sweet! I'm gonna try and slow it down a little so the flame is more obvious next time, but yeah, I loved it! [Big Grin]

Won't be in Clapham on Sunday unfortunately, but should be back at Spitalfields next week!

Fast is good too. Just personally I like a slower, smoother style. Bit more graceful to my eyes.

Dom!!!! That's no excuse! I was there last night and felt totally abandoned because you weren't there! [Frown] It took DFQ all night to calm me down. I swear. [Wink]

Damn those stairs Ewan, you really should get that landing light fixed.......
Hello?
Anyone there?
Help?
Broken bones etc......
May need ambulance......
Or sexy girl to kiss it better....
Preferrably second one.............

P.S. My job is to walk round and chat up women under the pretence of fixing their computers....or to be at lunch.....or in the park getting stoned.....but not for the next month.

Well Carrey and Ewan gave us yet another great spinning night last night, so I just want to take the time to thank them both for all the hard work and effort that they have put into helping us play [Smile] [Smile]

It was really nice seeing so many new people turn up (with toys.......). And did anyone see that young boy pick up poi for the first time??? he only went and did the 3 beat then the 5 beat weave within about 20 mins [Big Grin] [Big Grin]

Anyway guys, cheers for helping me have sooo much fun last night, and I'll look forward to seeing you all (PLUS MORE) at next weeks workshop.

Bam

[Smile] Tuesdays are fun days...

I speak for us both (Ewan and I) when I say we really enjoy hosting the evenings. They are great! (Almost as great as Sundays on Clapham Common...)

Thanks for all your support and hope to see many of you tomorrow evening...

CHews-D Eggen.....Rahhhhhh.....
Edit to say I'll have to stop posting here... This is number 10 afterall.....

Carrey honey, if you had fire as well you'd rule.....nothing at all to do with the pub and close vicinty to minor conveniences like...oooo i don't know....music, toilets etc.....But just because it's you.......awwwwwww.

Plus it's far more public.....(gets you used to spinning in front of non-poi types)...and you attract far more people into the hobby just by grabbing passers-by and teaching them. You guys also devote a lot of time teaching people that you sense are a bit shy and don't like to come up and harrass people for lessons.
For which you have given a lot of time and effort and you have gained love, friends and respect.

I don't think Sundays are better they're just different......my thoughts......might not be anyone elses......

Plus we go 4 beers afterwards - woop-skip-flop-skippedy-woop........mmmmmmm beer....(& Hugz)

Stay peachE - [Smile]
Cam
