Ok I learned I jumpy spinning move while doing the corkscrew, aim is to get perfect three in a row (any more and I get really dizzy). 90% success rate without fire, tried it with fire and did a face wrap . Singed eyelashes and light burn/bruise (can't tell yet but I think bruise) to edge of eye area.
oh and also linking throws into combination: btb throw, under left leg and over left arm, under right leg, repeat. about 60% success rate. (but I only started btb throws today). Still cant do btb weave or butterfly yet. grrr.

you all spun this weekend because of the Ball.. so like what gives.. you can't spin with a bunch of people not have learned something

erm....I don't think I learned anything at the weekend, well, I can't remember learning anthing although I saw tons of sh1t I haven't seen before properly, like antispin weaves and some lovely 'loop variations from Nx.

If someone remembers teaching me something please remind me so I can use it again sometime soon

It took me about 6 months of on-off practice, but I finally managed to do forwards behind the back weave today. Thank god for that.

I've nearly managed to get the hang of 4-beat corkscrew spinning in the wrong direction, too, which I've never got round to learning before. Woo.

lol rev, it wasnt that kind of weekend.

tho i did take a mo to get the 'anti-buzzsaw' which we are debating sooo hotly

and today ive got a new atomic hype, and after years of faliure I have the buzzsaw hyp with crossed entry and exit (the crossed entry gives it an extra twist, so thats why.)

ok, get this

roll on ball along the top of your forarm and let it drop off the end. as that one drops throw the second ball over the first to land on th elbow. as that one rolles down to the hand the first ball sets up for the same move on the opposite arm. nice huh?

Eek, that's technical

Behind the back weave turns, under arm catches, first 2 throws of a 4400 pattern with poi - my ceiling is far too low for poi juggling.

3 or 2 beat BHB butterfly weave. The one with a TTN each side.

Oh and long arm 180 butterflys without hitting myself too much!

I got my postmodernist computer program to reply "!" to the question "?".

Also: I learned lots of cheeky poi, airwraps the other way. Bluecats sneaky arm goes underneath extra beat airwrap.

And I have been practising anti-spin flowers. Cos they are obviously the prettiest move ever.

Isolated weave is very hard. (My arms are retarded, or possibly I am doing it correctly... Who can tell... )

Isolated weave is hard. I can just about do it but there's still a tendancy for one of the transfers to unisolate if I don't concentrate hard enough.

Yeah Damn hard.

I've been trying for ages to get it clean and am still not satisfied.

Stupid left poi not isolating all the way through!

They get much though if you've been smoking!

I'm not even gonna think about 5bt isolated weave

I've been thinking that maybe looking in the mirror to see if it's isolated wreaks it?

So maybe I can isolate my weaves?

Just not while looking in the mirror.

both, of course, cos the erms are extended in the atomic plane
feels very very weird.

weave flowers with butterfly arms, and butterfly flowers with weave arms...
and as a consequence of only taking one poi away with me this weekend, contact poi! theres loads of stuff where you wind your arm into the string just enough so the friction holds it on, and slowing down make it slide off... throws and catches that work like snatching an object with a whip, but reversed, if you see what i mean, more like snatching a whip with an object... (also works with feet (and probably objects)) and fish tails and continuous hand rolls and stuff. and thru wraps. and footbag.

And not a move i learned, but one by this dude called pete i met at a bonfire this weekend... three contact balls, throwing each one from his hand to his other shoulder and then running down the arm back to the hand, throwing again... like basic 3 ball juggling but with contact. looked king awesome, with the fire sparking through the balls... he was a bit good. when i first saw him he was staggering about looking really drunk, and i was doing a muntz point-and-laugh when i noticed the two contact balls rolling around, well, everywhere, really, at which point it became a tenticle point-and -gape instead...

Thanks to Nx for insperation.......

Atomic Umbrellas? Do the atomic flower arm movement with the poi always at right angles to your arms..

I can do this without poi

I know everybody here has got this all down, and I would feel silly posting this if I wasn't so excited. I FINALLY got it!!!!! I got the Weave! I have been trying to teach myself this for months and just couldn't grasp it by looking at all the tutorials online. Finally I gave up for a while, then the other night I said screw it, I'm gonna learn it if it's the last thing I do. And I did it! I DID IT!!! I know this seems kinda funny for all of you doin' hyperloop-butterfly-underhand-7 beat weave-corkscrew combos but I'm just so stoked! Yesssssss! Peace! Jessy

the weave is much harder to learn than all that techy stuff.

it's all about developing control over your poi, and the weave is the first big step.

so well done, you're quite right to be stoked

Agreed with simian!

Not really learnt anything major recently, just playing with as many variations on waist wraps as I can think of.

Sounds interesting! Underhand as inverse? And do you do the Butterfly-weave in same- or splittime?
