err... flamenco poi? use long heavy poi on a wooden floor and make the heads tap the ground in time with the music. tap your feet and stamp a bit. slightly change the timing and you can get double beats. well, i enjoyed it anyway.

oh yeah, and stuff the biro, it dosn't look god under uv.

W00t!
I can do weave turns! *dances*

I'm happy, but I still can't figure out reels at all. I keep smacking myself in the face!

But I am getting really good at smacking myself in the face, I reckon I can get my jaw 50% of the time now!

nice one on the proper fountain nate - try just half fountains next (or 'front waistwraps') - isolating the carries without destroying your planes is quite a challenge

360 turns inside static plane split-time side circles are coming along reeeeaaaally slowly - princess bammy has them pretty much nailed after only about a week

antispin bf flowers (cheers kev )

antispin in and out of hugs kinda works now(thanks durbs )

got me a new 2:1 bf ww with extra swishy bits

and in my town park, near a tree i found offset tempo bf weaves.

I've managed to nail reverse 5bt weave at last.

Got my low windmill/low reels sorted.

Almost nailed the timing on flowers (regular) will be a while before I get the hang of antispin.

Halfway to getting the weave BTB waistwrap.

Coaster wheel ,... so hard to describe.....ok,

The basis:

Body stay is wall plane, but the hands move towards you.
Stop Poi and let tham touch your both wrists.
Let twist em than with heads in the middle, like big
wheel in lunapark, for a while.
You get double wrist wraps, with lot of fun than

(It remind mi one finger game with string in a ring)

i haven't posted properly in here in ages cos can never remember what i knew before or could and couldn't do. anyway though, today i *think* i've started getting: antispin flower turns (snap miss fluffster) but not yet in butterfly, a 'proper' 5bt straight arm butterfly weave (might already have had this at some point), beginning to understand hyperloops 'properly' and have even started being able to power them an ickle bit (hoping for continous + transitions eventually but no promises yet), a new throw and catch into waistwrap...

other than that have sorted out a few bits an bobs to do with extended turns from various places and other basics, and generally just had a good spin!

learnt some lovely new x:y bits out of bf reels and into bf weaves and offset timing in flowers is coming on nicely too.

Ok so i dont float in here much...............

but last night i played with poi for about 4hrs! without touching a staff

Im pleased to say....... after 3 years of trying i can Airwrap! been hyperlooping all directions for ages, but the airwrap has been a little annoyance of mine for years not any more......... id like to thank the people that tried teaching me.......... so thats EVERYONE

Also started flowery stuff, feels differant with poi but i was actually starting to get them in forward and butterlfy with turns!

Thats enuf poi progression for this year me finx!

there are a LOT of posts.... and I'm finally registered on HOP... ive been spinning glowsticks for almost 5 years now... near chicago and i STILL cant seem to figure out anything but a 2 or 3 beat weave... forward.... btb moves still perplex me and i can do all my tricks forwards and backwards xcept for windmills. i will be picking up a set of fuzzy poi and the vids soon i hope it helps... i have a "new" wrap i made up... although i may have just not seen it before... start in a forward weave and wrap around your left wrist (while on your right side) with your right hand poi, and wrap the other (left poi) around your right elbow at the same time... now you reverse direction, or you can turn and stay forwards.... if it hasnt been done it should open up a few variations for longer weaves for you vets out there

You meen thru wraps, right

Edit:

Hyperloop redirection

Its Weave Hyperloop with nexus by the Poi heads. Poi tangle,

oh.

well, i'm using the term loosely to describe a few things that look like that.

a) tangling then entering strainghtjacket(requires isolated tangle and fast straightjacket hug turn)
b)getting a dynamic airwrap when arms are already straightjacketed(hardest)
c)using straightjacketed arms and gilligans, and pretending you can knot your arms too.

better?

ummm.... lots of stuff...

1. crosser->BTL with one poi->other side crosser
2. reverse BF hyperloops
3. whip catches
4. reverse BF hyperloops->throw->tapback->whip catch
5. BTB inversions (sketchy)
6. corkscrew throws
7. corkscrew hyperloop->weave hyperloop
8. hyperloop turn (fwd->bwd) without untangling
9. BTB UTL windmill getting cleaner...

that's it...
and dammit bluecat.... how did u do those SJ tangles?? i've already given up on SJ as no one that doesn't poi likes them and it hurts after 2 mins of practicing...
