This week i plucked from the infinity of mathematical posibilities:
left foot to caspar (finally), shuv-its where neither end of the staff touches the ground at any time (cheers whoever it was who made me think of trying that (Dragon7)), and all manner of ankle pinches. And some interesting leg climbing contact.

Zeppelin rules!

"anti-weave"

Thought I'd been doing what's being called a 3 beat inverted weave but I only seem to have got it now.... an absolute gem

YAY YAY YAY!

The behind the back FORWARD weave...I can go from left to right to left to right and back again without messing up...but after about the 3rd cross over, BAM. I just need to tidy it up and Practice Practice Practice. You all have no idea how long it's taken me to get this one. I'm a slow learner.

OH...though I DID also get the hyperloop from the weave, on one side, into the buzzsaw, and out on the other side...it's not perfect, but I've got it.

AND...my isolations are much better....but still far from perfect.

*takes a deep breath* WAIT until MAND SEES!!!

Just started spinning a week and two days ago, never done juggling or staff or anything.

Can now do:
3bt
Reverse 3bt (better)
Corkscrew
Some kinda 4bt corkscrew weave
Continuous turning weave untill diizy and fallover
Something based on that corkscrew weave but with vertical planes, one infront, one behind the head
Last night started to get 5bt pretty smooth after trying for several days.

Was most pleased with the corkscrew weaves as I hadn't (and still havn't) seen these done anywhere, just thought they should be possible so tried them.

Poi ROCKS!

Hmm... Didn't mean to sound so bigheaded
Oh well

BTB weave. Not sure if its forward or reverse.... is it reverse if I'm reverse weaving and I step infront of the poi so they're behind me? Well I just nailed that one, and turning 180 so it goes from one to the other (still sketchy.)

Ok dunno the name for this one:

butterfly on left (1bt)
weave right hand across
weave left hand across
upsidedowny butterfly on right (1bt)
and back again

The guy who told me about it called it an "iffy" but what is the official HOP name?

OMG i need to try 5bt behind the back, thats blatantly well easy non? (Will report back with progress.)

erm non-spinny stuff;

3-clubs

-backcrosses left side only
-that trick where you drop one club over your shoulder and catch it at your hip while juggling two in the other hand.
-chops, but I cant get em continuous yet (this trick is driving me mad)...

flashed 6 balls (ie six throws six catches).

spinny stuff

-clubs - bfly BTB WW double throw (ala Rubensteins revenge) to follow time BTB WW double throw on the other side. all catches btb.

-staff - basic contact stuff eg steve, and some arm-shoulder-neck-shoulder-arm marlarkey.

Josh (who should be studying for exams)

This weekend got ttn- forward + reverse, 5bt forward spot on (I swear it's easier than 3bt)
Last night was trying btb 3bt's but just end up with painful legs

So much to learn!

O M G!

At last

It has arrived....shouts to Oli for making me realise my socks were way to light I have increased and can now isolate!! And not only that.....I've also managed to isolate hyperloops!! WHOOT WHOOOOOOOOOT

You should have seen the smile on my face last night!! It was like this crossed with this on acid. Oh no hang on that was Glasto
I also isolated butterfly in and out of time infront and BTB but not very well.

And I don't think I've posted this before so....normal weave then release left and in right for one handed butterfly (can also be thrown under the leg) And, one handed forwards butterfly, release the lowest in my hand, quickly wrap the other on my thigh and then catch the first back in the same hand to go into reverse one handed butterfly

Yeah but we're talking about poi moves not skinning up techniques!

ok I'll try Oli but I can only promise poor quality vague attempts at everything with occaisional quality on some moves for good measure

glastonbury was definately a place for learning (ahem... and stealing) moves! thanks to oli for airwrap wristwraps among other ideas, mike for horizontal hyperloop ideas (i'm still working on the juggling stalls variations), a random guy for explaining 531 to me and at some point oli kev and i had fun playing with a mixed bag of under the leg wirst, arm and leg wraps. Garthy, i'm still trying to sort out my exits for the plane changing hyperloops though.

i've probably learn't some other stuff at since i last posted on this thread (like contact ball butterflies) but can't remember what...
