This thread is about methods of learning new move.
MOVE BASIC
MOVE OUT
MOVE IN
Code:
Example: Move -> (method) -> New move
-----------------
MOVE BASIC
-----------------
Move
Single move is the basic of basic. You learn a move,
when you are able to do the move backward and for-
-ward. The reason is that learn both direction give
you ability to turn. The move is complete done in full
turn.
Foreward Waeve -> (turn) -> Backward Weave
Family
Family is doing the same move, but in different context.
Every move has significant position of hands. Context,
meen, let take the position of hands to diferent place,
but create the same shape, pattern.
Weave -> (context) -> Wind mill
Fundamental
Fundamental is what is not a spin. That's the way you
can decide what move you do. Fundamental, meen to
take a move in some context and break the natural go-
ing by manipulating the object, Poi, itself.
Weave -> (manipulation) -> Butterfly
---------------
MOVE OUT
---------------
Effect
Effect, meen upgrade, the haven set of movement, by
special key move. Unexpecting movement or unex-
pecting move, rare combination or sometime perso-
nal move.
Corkscrew -> (key) -> Hyperloop buzzsaw
Extension
Extension, change the look on the move. Make the
move bigger or smaller. Extension is like drawing
picture, like making the move look nice figure,
shaping and the whole looking.
Weave -> (figure) -> Flower
Combo
Combo, is spinning by sequence. Very hard combi-
nation or special. Usually need more time, more
thinking. Look like flash or mind game, illusion.
Something you can't get for the first time, but by
routine.
Turn -> (routine) -> High Low Turn 360's
Moding
Moding meen, to level up or level down the move.
In common sense, moding is giving move into diff-
erent move basic.
Example:
Weave -> (mode) -> Isolated weave
Retrospective
Retrospective is hard to describe, but you kind of re-
play your routine to pick out the incontinousness of
movement. Rhymming. Can't remember.
Synchronous -> (reply) -> Polyrhythm
Performance
Performance, has something inportant and interesting.
Include start, stop or finishing move and sometime
posing. Usually is "open routine", but need more drill.
Performance is the show thing, not the get thing.
Start -> (open) -> Fire
------------
MOVE IN
------------
Copy
Copy move is normal way to explore new way of spin-
ning. Actually it's not a copy, but reflection I think. You
can copy move by person, or text, or animation or vid.
Weave -> (Bluecat) -> Buzzsaw fountain
Practise
Practise, meen repeat all I know. Repeat again, and
than may experiment a bit. Again repeat, and may
experiment a bit again. Repeat.
Good Weave -> (repeat) -> Better Weave
Develop
Develop meen think about the move itself. Question
the move. Why it can go here, but can't go here. Why
I can mix this and can't mix this. Before to sleap, in
tram, whereever.
Spin -> (thought) -> Anti-spin
De/Cyphering
Cyphering and decyphering meen to look at the vari-
able of move. Usualy by compare, or lowering or in-
creasing some move poperty. This regular way to
grade move.
Figure of 8 -> (beat) -> Weave
Teaching
Teaching, meen try to explain the move to another
person by body, language and toolz. Nice way to
find something new too. Like a discussion or dia-
log I meen move that come out of group.
Plane -> (workshop) -> Trinity
Cheating
Cheating, meen either to by pass the "classic" way of
move by some strange other that look almost similar
or to make a move from picture that shape illogic spin
pattern by substitution.*
Tangle -> (cheat) -> Fake Tangle
Random
Random, is move by coincidence. Forgotten hands,
forgotten beat or just insuficient amount of combina-
tion producing something but move. A lot of move
come out this way.
Pendulum -> (?) -> Pendulum routine
Dreaming
Dreaming is a move creating in mind. You can
spin in your head to combine the patterns you
know in repetittion or creation of new com-
binations. That may or may not can be done in
reality.
Move -> (draem) -> ?

pointing "out of move"(ask Mr. Glass).

Nice. Now, if everyone used this, it might mak some things clearer.
Thanks for clearing up the stuff about families and fundamentals too. So a fundamental is something like a stall? Just to make it crystal clear in my mind.

"How do you know I'm mad?" said Alice.
"You must be," said the Cat, "Or you wouldn't have come here."

Thanks. Came up in another thread of yours as well.
Another question: what do you mean by move in and move out? I understand what you mean in the specific cases, but do not understand the distinction nor what it means.

Good question. I meen, those 'move out' methods are some-
how expresive, abstract or visual methods, but those 'move
in' are more thoughtfull, logical methods.
Do not forget the basic..
