`poi on cheesey uk 70's gameshow!

I was watching tv the other day and there was a program on about the top 10 camp tv people in the uk. It showed a clip of The Generation Game with Larry Grayson. The Generation Game was a show where contestants had to watch some almost immpossible task and then learn the said task to earn points and (dumb) prizes. I couldn't believe my eyes when the clip they showed had some Maouris in grass skirts trying to teach a contestant poi. I guess no one scored many points for that one cos you only had about five minutes to learn. This is possibly the earliest showing on Tv of poi spinning.

That would be kinda funny if poi became an Olympic sport.

Did they have to do fire poi...coz that could've been REALLY entertaining!
