(not qiute poi poi poi, but Flags Flags Flags
Axis Danz Flagging
http://www.axisdanz.com/index.asp?PAGE=viewourreel
Not quite poi, but flagging from this US performance troup.
Most of them seem to work in TV, so unsurprisingly. this is a very well produced promo.
Its well worth having a look at the "performance highlights" slideshows, showing shots of impressive looking shows -
Mind you their, performance highlights do include a "Mariah Carey Music Video"
Not necessarilry anything special in terms of twirling, but worth seeing the video for some great moments where they show some big choregraphed twirling shows performed by multiple pro dancers
Video Overall Rating 68%
+ performance, twirling, filming, editing and dancers
- technical, and those orange and green flags

Hey, that's George!
He gives flagging classes downtown, I've taken a few. He's a great guy. We've crossed paths many times.
Yeah, you can all laugh at the thought of me trying to keep up with a tall goodlooking well-moving dance troupe.
Yup, George is great. They do all sorts of Gay fundraisers as well as performing at various international venues. Local New York Boy done well.
Lots of dancing and good flowy dancy poses.

Yes, let's go.

Loving flags at the moment. There are couple of recent threads in the videos forum with some nice flag footage. I hadn't realised that its a whole seperate art form quite distinct from poi where they use flags with no handles. I'm going to get me some of them! Cheers Drew.

Hello normal people - Not poi, not staff, just a daft song today:
# The internet is really really great... for porn.
There is no nudity, or bad language in this clip, its completely Safe for work. PG rated
"The Internet is for Porn" song from avenue-Q
With some other folks making a computer game animation too it:
http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=5430343841227974645
one of those monsters does a charleston step
Here's the original source of the genius on this, but its not the whole song - I wanna see this show, it looks great:
Avenue-Q
http://www.avenueq.com/videoclips.html
Watch out, its catchy this one, you may be singing this song all day.
73% for the soundtrack, I'm not rating the animation.
Enjoy.

YAY!
We took my brother to see Avenue Q when he was in town a couple of weeks ago. It's a brilliant show, though I was a little shocked by the full puppet nudity
Bit naughty. Glad we hadn't taken the mole along.
Happily NYC had the week off because you're right - we couldn't stop singing :cheesy broadway grin and jazz hands:

Yes it will, I'm getting slightly scared by this thread Thankyou all for being Lovely, It's sunny here in london, I am sitting here in my dressing gown wondering what to post in my Vlog.
Here's an old classic, and still one of the best Francis Brunn: doing utterly impossible ball manipulation and body rolling: http://www.lysator.liu.se/juggling/video/FrancisBrunn_JackBenny.mov 26mb Francis Brunn was a legend. Wow, what an incredible performer.
Its interesting to me to see some more recent renaissance in this kinda good stuff. These cats are caling it urban ball or freestyle soccer. Follow the links to videos on both these pages:
http://bambiball.free.fr "Production" seem like a good place to start. also see that there a lot of trick/instructional clips at the bottom.
http://www.freestylesoccer.ca/fs_fnf.html Don't expect to hang around this world for long without seeing a viral for Nike or something.
Smiles Drew

That Francis Brunn link doesn't work for me.
D-
Even if the technological error is on my end.... That should have been accounted for.
EDIT: OK, now it works. Still low marks for black and white. At least it didn't have subtitles.

Black and white means he learned all of that without getting it from videos off a website.. lol.. and it had cheesy slapstick comedy too.. thats like extra credit..
I think NYC needs a timeout to reflect on his poor grading skills..

subtitles make any film a thousand times better, not only do you not have to bother listening, so you can talk over a film more and make stupid comments, but you also don't have to watch the actors as much, and it's generally harder to tell if they're crap actors.

Subtitles mean that the film is foreign and therefore sucks.

Eight videos here:
http://www.michaelmoschen.com/press.html
Phwooooar
His video - In Motion with Michael Moschen is availiable on VHS and is brilliant. Well worth watching for any manipulatior, although you lot may scoff at his club swinging technique, his ball work is awesome.
