In the spirit of Burning Man, I come bearing a gift.
But it's not blinky or glowy or I can't eat it.
I did see a Baliwood movie with two guys essentially playing large drums by banging them with burning poi.
It was strange and out of context.

That reminds me... totally off topic... but while we were in San Francisco I totally needed a "Conjur Cole and Drew" to play with Molly and I at the Exploratorium. (Just a website, nothing fun.)
It's the best science museum in the world.
So if you geeks EVER happen to be in San Fran... set aside a day (like we did) and have fun.
It's definitely Disneyland for Geeks.
Sorry, back to your regularly scheduled blog now.

This thread has gone from top quality baton twirling to utter Hoff in just 12 pages: Maus, for some reason I love that Hoffman and kit miming music video, but it would be helpful if all you Guys, can you explain what your linking to rather than just giving a a randon ambiguous link, it makes it easier for us all to work out whats going on.
Incredible Tyger animation (thanks to matt for the link): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6LsMoUtBlDk&NR
Wicked Japanese tap dance skills: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cbObLy5MjWU&mode=related&search=
Funny Japanese dance WTF???: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mRB8nzrZAtM&mode=related&search=
Votes from the floor, should we return this thread to be manipulation and dance and related "very good stuff"? Or should it degrade into a post all videos that are slightly amusing thread?

I reckon it should stick with the manipulation and dance stuff...
Perhaps start another thread for other mildly amusing things... cos then people who can't watch everything will at least see the good things...

whilst you wouldn't believe it, this video of a chinese man using qi to lift 150kg, and to pull a 3.5 tonne truck is safe for work, and pg you might not want to watch it at work:
Power of qi
(Ripped from bbc 3 and it is PG) There a lot of good stuff and videos on kungfurock.com. you can waste hours there, I did.

thanks aimee
i read about the end here
and then here

'twas cool while it lasted but i had hoped that the secrecy would have lasted until after a big plot point/revelation/shock e.g. the 'ceremony'
probably still end up watching it though just to see what they actually do with the format...

awwww, its so nice to see you getting blindly offensive just cos you missed out on something again meg
mind you, you probably wouldn't have understood the references to feynman, esoteric religion, the uncertainty principle, psycological control methods and so on anyway - having assumed you just needed to 'turn your brain off and stare at the cute chick' (your reaction to the videos, not mine!) you're right that you probably wouldn't have liked it at all...
now you can happily go back to making your own spiffy internet videos - lying to yourself all the while that 95% of the downloads aren't really just the female members of hop watching solely so they can stare at the cute guys waving sticks around

Sorry for putting this guy on this lovely thread. And sorry it's so completely off topic. But I was impressed. More impressed that I hadn't seen this before.
This is where y'all say that you saw it like 5 years ago with Matrix Ping Pong.

I'm more impressed by the audio engineering.

I can't believe people were taken in by it! Wasn't the ridiculous amount of makeup she's wearing going to give it away? Or the fact that nobody who isn't a crack whore D list celebrity deperate to get a tiny glimpse of fame again makes a video diary?
I find it offensive that people think girls wear that amount of makeup, as a normal thing, everyday.
All that guff (apart from feynman), I was over by the time I finished my gcse's. Anybody over that age is obviously behind the times, but I suppose she is in america...

well yeah, it was obviously fake meg - that's part of what made it so interesting wasn't it?
there were about a billion plot holes that indicated it wasn't real and the fact that they responded to comments but never even approached the idiotic 'is it real' questions kinda sealed the deal.
i was hoping the ceremony was gonna happen soon (anyone read many of crowley's rituals? ) to happen or at least for daniel to get hideously maimed/slaughtered by bree's dad
i guess you could watch it for the cute girl if you really wanted to - but only in the hope that the sex magick rituals would actually be broadcast at some point...

I find it offensive that people think girls wear that amount of makeup, as a normal thing, everyday.
I think that the girls in my classes that wear that much makeup every day wear that much make up every day. I know for a fact that many of them make a point to have never been outside their house without a large amount of makeup on.
There are places where folks wear FAR more makeup than that every day.
Take Tammy Faye for example...
I certainly don't defend makeup but I don't think it's offensive to assume that people who wear lots of makeup every day wear lots of makeup every day.
I'd actually EXPECT that there are many teenage girls that KNEW they was going to be on camera would put on lots of makeup.
I'm not saying anything about lonelygirl... only comments on the commonness of excessive female makeup.

Right you lot, this thread is supposed to be about cool things on the internet, although it was supposed to be just about baton girlyies. and you've turned it into a moan fest about a girl.
I'm gonna inject some serious geek back into this thread and hope that the overdose of nerd juice will balance out the estrogen and we can get back to where we were

and finally a site that is actually useful, it posts google results without the annoying price comparison sites http://www.givemebackmygoogle.com/
