What is the most impressive move you can do? At the moment mine is the 4-beat windmill or 4-beat corkscrew =)

my best move is called 'the rev'.. it starts by spinning the poi.. and ends when the poi stop and I sit down..

what's my favorite at the moment? inversions.. in particular the ones where you have to lead through the move with the hand that controls the poi that's following..

Who am I trying to impress out of interest?

For the masses isolations never cease to excite non-spinners- double throws and nice stall combinations for the initiated

mine has to be anything anti spin... always messes with non spinners heads... and definately isolated buzzsaw.

Laying down butterfly trumps any double throw, inversion, isolation, or anti-spin apparently...

Heh, sad thing is, its true.

Id say my most impressive move is a reverse double butterfly throw... Or perhaps the 1h shower...

I'm really loving the new moves I've picked up recently (thanks so much for the instructions Chutney!!), namely: Isolations, Hyperloops and throwing/catching.

I love the feeling of isolations with the poi going in opposite directions - finally a move that flow into/out of butterfly!

I've discovered throws and catches are by far the smoothest way of getting into / out of butterfly-type moves too - no kicking / wrapping at all

BTB weave is technically fairly impressive, but I can only do backwards, more often than not hit myself doing it, and frequently end up hitting my shoulder blades when trying to enter into it In terms of what looks most impressive to non-poi'ers, Isolations seem to go down well because it looks like something on a string shouldn't be able to do that!

My most impressive move I call "Hells Gate". Basically I end up spinning in 7 foot flames while burning off my goatee, eyebrows and eyelashes. Needless to say, I don't perform that one too often but people get a kick out of it until they smell all the burnt hair and see the black ring I left on their lawn.

I agree about the isolations' effect on non-spinners.

I don't know how "impressive" this is to others (especially you lot) but the move I'm most tickled by right now is a ceiling plane spiral wrap (from a 4 bt. corkscrew).

Try the "Search" link above or look here . Isolations are one of my most favorite ways to spin. They tend to mesmerize people and can be used with almost any move.
