Emergency Poi

what's the strangest thing your emergency poi have been made out of?

I went to a carnival/fete thing today...and saw a staff spinner, so i wanted Poi...there and then.

I managed to win two pom poms...and then i used Balloon string.

They weren't heavy enough.

Oh well...i'll fix 'em somehow!

socks...just socks...no balls, just the socks!! it was very pathetic!

i made some out of crappy as 3mm (nothingth of an inch) nylon rope, just after i'd hear about it. the pair of them, all up, weighed all of about 20 grams.

i made my first meteor out of a bit of rope, 2 indoor floorballs stuffed with plasticbags, and some glue.. hah...

pens with clips on the end (shirt clips?) on bits of string.

Two white trash bags with soda bottles half full of water in them. Was at a friend's party one night and had nothing to spin so I made them up. It was actually rather cool because the trash bags were shaped in just a way that they looked somewhat like flags and made a nice plastic bag sound while spinning through the air.

These two funny squidgy balls. They're those water filled rubberised squishy balls that stick to things when you throw them. They stretch like a b*tch so I pinched the seams and spun them. they kinda stretched out to look like sock poi hehe...cept I had to stop cause I thought they would burst

Shoes are great. Laces become chord, shoe becomes poi.

slippers could be very awkward...unless they were those weird slippers with the laces in the front. You know, those suedey moccasin ones?

i have my keys on a lanyard, so i absentmindedly twirl them...that is, until i smack myself! and being smacked by keys REALLY hurts! one of these days i'm going to steal my bopyrfiend's keys (his are also on a lanyard) and twirl them so i can doubly smack myself with pointy metal!

On the fourth of July I went to a party and thought it would be fun to take a treat, so I made popcorn balls with long licorice strings coming out of the popcorn ball. Ta Da popcorn poi. And yes, we did spin it.

rubberbands clipped to pens, keys on lanyards, hacky sax in gfs panty hose, n it wasn't emergency but I got my parrot to hold onto my sok poi for a spin one time, ala parrot poi
