Problems with display settings?

Ok, you know in your user profile, you can change some settings. well i'm having a problem with the one that says
"Display preferences, number of shown threads, languages, colors... "
i click the edit button to the right + it comes up with

We cannot proceed.
We could not find your profile 'zarkia'
Please use your back button to return to the previous page.

has anyone else had this problem or does anyone know how to fix it, or do you have to have 50 posts or something before you can fiddle with the settings?
btw - i did search this, looked in the FAQ and the posting guidelines + found nothing.

theres two possibilities:
1) obviously you do not exist. you are merely a figment of your deluded imaginary imagination.
2) it some sort of tech problem one of the mods/admin dudes will help you with.

It's nothing to do with numbers of posts, cos I messed with mine straight away.

That's all I know.
