Chain of fire poi too heavy to control

my question is : dose the problem of my fire poi due to the weight of the chain?

i just get my first set of fire poi,
with oval twist chain,
while the chain is hard to control,
i mean when i spin forward, especially, the chains shake and even bend~~`~~~~~~~~~
but not shake when spin backward~~~~~~~~~~`

and when making reverse weave, the chain also keep shaking,

i wonder the poi head is too light ,
while the chain is too heavy?
compared to the chain, the poi head weight nothing~~~~~~~

to add weight to the poi head , i make a crochet cover, and it swing better~~~~~~~

but i wanna ask is it necessay to change to lighter chains ?~~~~~~~

probably not lighter chains, but heavier heads. fire poi are always going to be harder to control than fabric because they don't stretch. what size heads do you have?

do you have swivels at your handles? if not then that could be causing it as the chains try to twist...

does spinning faster stop them from shaking?

no, shaking in a poi rig setup tends to be caused by to many chunky components getting twisted then trying to untwist themselves, post a photo of your poi setup for us to have a look at...
