Annoying christmas?

is it just me or do other people find christmas is really annoying?

first of all i'd like to say i'm not a christ hater, i'm from a christian family. But seriously, i have decided this year that christmas is really really stupid. not the actual birth of christ part which is fine by me, but the corpratisation of christmas where every shop and every business suddenly becomes 'santas choice'. its just totally wrong for an important religious event to be used as a marketing tool by profiteering groups.

And i also find the ideal of 'giving and sharing' another rediculous marketing ploy. I mean we're encouraged to get into the christmas spirit, but do our friends who already earn 50 000 dollars a year need a new 20 dollar toaster? why do we even need a reason to buy presents for people, and why should they be just for people we already know? if we were truly into the 'spirit' wouldnt we be nice and caring ang give gifts all the time? its not like you really need that 50 cents for a phone call that people as you for.

christmas in the western world is corrupt, and i'd say its even close to sining, in my opinion

Nope, I love it. And this year I discovered the joys of internet shopping cos it means I get to open loads of pressies before xmas!

have you actually considered the morality of chirstmas? that the son of GOD is born and we celebrate it by spending rediculous amounts of money

People have fogotten the whole point that Christmas is supposed to be about the birth of Christ.

Then again, I dont see anyone but the Church complaining, seeing as we all get loads of free stuff.

We dont have much to celebrate so why not make the most of it when the opportunity presents itself?

Yay everyone should like chocolate it's good for the soul! anyone can give me chocolate for christmas and i'd be happy but then again i do have poi too............ damn hard choice chocolate or fire poi (wolfs revenge!) ummmmmm gonna have to think hard about this!

is there anyone out there in HoP who doesnt like christmas? another guy i know told me today that he doesnt like it, which when added to me and my other friend makes 3, our party is growing!

i don't like the commercial side or the stress. i mean my family gets into a mad panic about organising EVERYTHING, and then its kinda like "why bother".

I used to like Christmas when I was little cause of the presents, but now we dont give big presents anymore (too damn expensive) So now it's just about spending the day with the family while your friends are out partying and that's why I hate it. We go to church in the mornning which is fine, but why be forced to spend the day with family you see quite often, just to be nice!

Don't feel like being nice anymore.

I have just arrived back into the "western world" having been in asia for months. Christmas (music, decor etc) is one of many shocks I wasn't prepared for that doesn't sit well in the stromach....bah humbug!

hoorah! it took a whole page of dribble to actually get people to agree with me but it worked, SUCCESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i would now like to unveil that there is a total of six people in the world who dont like christmas! people are joining the ranks everday and soon we will have a army of non-christmasicity people sorts, ummmm, yeh (evil grin):D
