Twister Fire Starter ridin on a tratter

Hi people, I'm travelling on Wednesday to Amsterdam to start off my Europe trip. I'm taking poi on a plane and I usually put labels on them to say what they are in the hope that whoever's checking them will leave them be and bugger off!

So I was thinking, it might be useful for other travellers too, we should start and interlingual list of Poi explanation phrases!

Something along the lines of "Spinning poi, used to recreate the maori arts, please handle with care."

Thanx you guys!

Caz xx

Hehehe!

I think in Italian it should be something like "Maori Poi" un gioco dei Maori, Fragile.

except poi = pea...

I think Cass (resident froglet ) said something about Bolas, which isn't technically right, but it gets understood... Or "chaines de feu"

Lol, Maori is such a beautiful rythmic language... could never get used to the 'wh' as 'f' sound, tho.

Check out this site: http://www.freetranslation.com/

It's quite good... not great, but it'll do the job

free translators are crap! Just try translatin something, into say Italian, and then back. You get completely different answers! Thanx for the thought tho!

heheheh... yep... it's not perfect... tis ok for really basic stuff tho... I suppose you could pay if you wanted it exactly right.

And it's different when you change it back cos no languages are direct translations of another - just similar interpretations.

Also, Dragon, I lived in Auckland for most of last year... then travelled round the country. I always had problems with Whangarei (Fangarey?!!)
