UK ch4 free running docu thurs 6 jan

Thought the UK spinners should know about this; it's a documentary on 'free-running' on channel four at 10 pm, titled 'Jump Britain'.

Looks excellent from the trailers I've seen.

Ooh yeah! I saw the first one they did about a year or so ago, it was really good!

Aren't they going to be jumping ove the gap at the top of the Millenium Stadium in Cardiff this time??

I'm pretty sure it's new and not a repeat (unless it's been shown b4 on a non-terrestial satalite/cable channel).

Yeah it is new. The other one was Jump London, and all in London. This is Jump Britain, and not all in London. Which will mean more to those of us who live outside the M25 hopefully because I didn't know where most of the buildings in the other one were, and they seemed to impress people who did.

Amazing programme before, totally inspirational. I'll be DVDing this one for sure (if I can get the machine to work)

It's gonna be soo sweet! I might (but probably won't) be on it! We got filmed when seb (Sebastian Foucan) was up scouting locations in Edinburgh. He eventually decided to jump the One O'Clock Gun in Edinburgh Castle. He made it the first time apparently, but not the second.

I haven't seen the trailer yet but I've heard that one of my spinning friends Ian is doing a wallflip in it, just off the royal mile. Sweeeeeet!

I was just learning btb waistwraps back then....

It was marvellous... Bill Hicks sketches between Nirvana songs... it might be on the website...

That was a repeat, the Bill Hicks, Nirvana thing.

They aired it first last year to commemorate the death of Bill Hicks and Kurt Cobaine.

But it was pretty good

And i shall definately be watching this programme on Thursday

yes!! jump britain, i can't wait, i wrote it in my diary so i wouldn't forget... I'd love to take up free running, but i'm so unfit, i'd be bloody useless, but then practise makes perfect... thing is certain cities would be easier to learn in methinks... i don't think i'll be running the roof of the millenium stadium in a hurry. Therefore i shall have to move to Paris, 'tis the only thing for it!

i actually had a really good idea for a dissertation involving freerunning, trouble is i'd already finished mine when i thought of it........ damnation.

trouble with tv is that if you dont watch it you dont know whats on it and you slip out of the cycle and end up never watching it and missing some good stuff. or thats what happens to me. so its good to read posts like this.

I've just set my Skyplus to record it, Skyplus is such a wonderful tool.... I recommend it whole heartedley (if that's how you spell it)

It played in Canada, Ontario as well...at least on my cable station. Maybe in the us as well.

Anyways, it's some really cool stuff, I got into it abit when I saw a music video on it a year and a half/two years ago. It's really cool, but really demanding. I'm an all round person so I try to have a bit of everything in my experience. Free Running is alot of acrobatics. If you're interested in free running, you might also want to look at 'Tricking' (Flashy gymnastics/martial arts), and if you like Tricking, join Tae Kwon Do, it's where they do all the flashy kicks etc...
Long story short, free running is very cool. I do a bit everytime I walk home from work/school...simple stuff (fences, walls, fire hydrants, bushes etc...) but it looks kind of cool if you get a nice set of good jumps going.

ooooooo when cantus and I were somewhere (possibly NZ) we saw some students who'd made a home free running video as part of a museum exhiobition thing/art piece. It was amazing.

I saw the jump London and that was fat well worth watching

I managed to get jump London on amazon for about 6 quid a couple weeks ago. Well worth it. And looking forward to tonight. its gonna be awsome!!

although overall i was a little dissapointed with the program... i got the feeling it was more about the location than the running, which is in my opinion the wrong way round. i prefered the shots of them running in the suburbs to the shots of them on impressive looking shiney buildings. maybe thats just me though?

Anyone have a copy on tape I can borrow?
