very good info shiznot, but you also have to remember...doctors also save man many people from dying and other illnesses. without doctors we would not have medicine for colds, we would not be able to sew on limbs that have been severed *thinks of lorana bobbit and chills run down spine* just some extra food for thought, but very good info ill have to pass that on.

Charles point was that my statement was intended to be takes as a joke.

I was by no means suggesting that we actually ban doctors.

I have just spent about 30 minutes trying to find something valid to back this up. I remember something like this going around a couple of years back, and couldn't find info, then either. I did find that between 44k and 98k people die from a "medical accident", however I could not locate a database anywhere that gives the number of practicing doctors in the US. While the 700k number doesn't sound impractical, it would equate that each doctor has about 285 patients. Most doctors are specialists, so the number of patients per doctor would rise dramatically if you remove these doctors from the total. Not to disagree with what you are trying to say, though, I just couldn't find anything to validate your numbers! Many innocuous acts kill people. Living is dangerous!! We should legalize everything...

This was an interesting topic... I found it hilarious that statistically Doctors are more dangerous than gun owners in our country..

Even if people don't actually own a gun, they are gun happy. Its frightening really.. I remember reading a statistic a while ago that said something like there was 10 times more handgun related deaths in the US than in England or something like that. Its a scary thought. While cops are here for our protection, they really scare the crap out of me. I think I have copophobia.

America loves guns more than people. hmmm scary.

I should think there are a lot more than 10 times as many deaths by hand gun in America than in England because hand guns have been Illegal in England (Except for special cases) for a few years now.
