Yes come and meet me, unfortuntly i'm in Palmerston North and there isn't much else here apart from me and a few other spinners.

After that get your ass down to Welington, pop into cosmic corner and talk to Grif and he should set you right with the fire scene in Wellys, alternatively try to hunt down Jimmy James as he helps organise the full moon drumming circle. I'm not sure but i think they still do a full moon drumming at Civic Square.

You can also find spinners in Auckland (I think tuesday nights in Victoria Park) and spiners can be found in Christchurch aswell but you will have to hunt them down yourself.

You can probably find many more things to do and many more people to see but I havn't travelled NZ all that much myself.

Make sure you hit Queenstown, it rocks. Not really much of a spinning scene now that I've left, but winter festival kicks ass. So much to do there, and so few days in the week.

Also check out Nelson, although I don't know any spinners there, from what I've heard it's pretty big.

Have fun in Kiwiland.

Pretty decent spinny scene in Nelson from what i remember, in that whole area in fact.. Rather splendid place.

As for places to go.. what sorta things are you interested in apart from spinning? Jumping off things? Wildlife? I spent my gap year looking round - and can definitely recommend the experience- 'tis where I got into poi in the first place, everywhere i went I seemed to be tripping over spinners until i finally gave in and asked 'can i have a go..?'

have fun, it's an amazing place.

If you're staying in Picton, make sure it's in the Juggler's Rest Backpackers - and say hi to Nikki and Will for me there!

Nikki is a spinner herself, so you'll be well looked after!

as far as auckland goes, now basque reserve central city not Vic Park.
Queenstown is definately the go, and depending what time of year you're over here, Bay Of Islands, Mt Maunganui for New Years

Yay for going to NZ! I just booked my flights for this november I've been reading a lot about tramping and I really fancy it, anyone got any advice about where to go so it's not too touristy but not too intense?
