Who here has information on the Neon Husky clear staff? Also I want to know if there are any like products. Specifically the information I need is:
Diamater of the staff
Relative weight to a wooden staff
Sturdyness, bendability (like a bamboo staff or a good wooden one?)
Quality of construction

Thanks lots!!

I dont have one, but I did want to buy one.

The diameter cannot be much thicker than one of the led streetlights they put in them. So I would say its about 3/4 of an inch. Also I would have thought that it would be fairly sturdy cosidering that if it did bend, the streetlights inside it would break.

This is only speculation but I hope it helps.

3/4 inch polycarb tubing, heavy with streetlights , a little bendier than a good wooden staff, but pretty stiff overall

yeah mcp will know everything you ask, she can just interrogate her own stick.

I played with a husky this summer and I didn't make friends with it at all

the balance is pants and it rattled disconcertingly (not at all good for contact)
the diameter was reasonably thick, um, about an inch
it's a faff getting all the lights out, on and in again and they are temperamental
but it does look pretty

not half as pretty as an Aerotech though

an irritating bother

(especially when the top won't unscrew and you are in a hurry)

You should keep a strong boy in your bag to open things and avoid faffs.

On a less (or more) faff related note.

I've heard tell about tapping programs into aerotech staffs.... apparently it can be a bit of a faff. (can you tell i like this word)

Are there other options to the Husky and the Aerotech. I'd love to build one but buying one would be sooo much easier though admitidly less fun.

*is pleased to have introduce faffing to ado-p*

mo-seph is the man to talk to about making such toys

the faff of programming an aerotech turns into downright drama when some backstage fool thinks it's a good idea to thwap it whilst you're doing a quick change

(not me, I just witness suchlike)

kerfuffle is also a good word, but I have no use for it today

once you get used to aerotechs they are no bother at all. honest. except when broken. which happens a lot less now than it used to.

neon huskys are great if you don't drop or punish your staff in any way shape or form.

aerotechs are droppable.

I agree with ROb, once you know the programmes, it is so easy to set up.

there is a third that is rarly talked about!

*deleted*
i cant find ferrel techs site atm, cos im being thick, but you get the idea from thses juggle art catalouge sales,

they are a metal tube at about a inch and some funky light tubes at the end, not long engought for 5ft contact but short contct is nice, and they are pretty much unbreakable from what i hear....

they can also be set or programmed or somethinged to change colour on direction chenge due to merc switchs!

hopw this helps!

well I'm not much of a twirler, as in my original staff experiences have been from kung-fu and well I like to use a 5.5-6 foot staff... also I'm on a kinda tight budget... but the use of this staff is meant to be for stage fighting/martial arts staff form, also I want to use glowsticks (streetlights won't survive stage fighting, even if in a staff)... anyway thanks for all your guys' help!!

I wonder if the glowbug staffs sold here in the online shop would be any good for what you're doing? I've been considering getting a couple for "jedi" play..Nothing hard, just light stuff.
