Lifetime's ambitions.

I've just had a lot of people recently asking what I want to do with my life- probably due to the fact I'm an aimless bum. Well, I don't have any great ambitions to be prime minister or a vet or suchlike- but there are a bunch of things I've always wanted to do- Go to a 'jam night' in a strange town, with a small pot of homemade raspberry jam, sit in the corner with it for 20 minutes, refusing to talk to anyone, or make eye contact, then get up and leave. Persuade at least one person to get their ears remodelled pointy-elf-fashion. Organise an entire street full of people to bust into a full Mary Poppins style song and dance routine when a random stranger walks up, then suddenly all just stop and wander off.. Anyone else have any ambitions you'd like to get out? Just curious I did fulfil one a while back- putting 'of no fixed abode' on a job application..

Ambitions? My midlife crisis is helping me do them now. Most of what I have done is done now I have to think of new things. Although being rich would be a good ambition hehehe

I want to own my own nice house in the countryside and a little bit of land around it (yeah I know I'm getting old!) and have a decent paid job that I really love doing (possibly 'successful yoga teacher' if I can ever get back into the routine of doing yoga every day and start eating more healthily again... failing that, something where I am my own boss or get to do things in my own way). It's very simple, but I think it's all I really want in the long term... but having the means to obtain a nice house and a great job is the hard bit! Other things that I would also like to achieve on the way...
Doing a residential in-depth yoga course. Re-taking my PADI open water diving course. Travelling/seeing some more of the world. Study for a Masters Degree... possibly in occupational therapy or psychology but not sure yet.
I'm sure there are lots more but those are the big ones that come to mind at present.... At the moment I'm working on finding a new job and relocating away from London, hoping everything else will fall into place eventually!

I guess I'll add my 'sensible' ambitions.. To see a blue whale- from a smallish boat, or in the water.
To get into costume design/making in a semi-commercial way.
To emigrate into the country I'm currently sat in and will have to leave in 8 more days...

to get my degree asap...
to travel as much as I can...
to settle (maybe) one day in new zeland...
to learn as many languages as possible...
to be able to express myself by dancing with pois (or in any other way if I one day change my mind..)..
honestly? I think it's not important where you go, but how you get there. *

Oooh, thought of another one: I'd love to learn how to draw and paint, I haven't done any art since GCSE level in school (except a few evening classes at uni) but I used to really enjoy it, despite not being very good. I'd love to learn how to do it all properly though and actually maybe get good at it!
I'd also like to learn creative writing too, again haven't done any since school, I can write fantastic factual essays in just about anything if I have the information on, but my creative writing skills kind of died around the time of my school exams. I think I'd need a course with a bloody good teacher just to learn about styles and techniques etc.
If I ever managed to fulfil these, they would probably lead to another ambition of being able to sell my work, ie creating art or writing that other people actually enjoy and appreciate.... but seeing as I can't yet draw, paint or write I think this is more of a daydream than an ambition!

Again, I'd like to be fluent in at least one other langauage Confront all my fears I can already draw and paint a bit but I need to learn to use it properly To never sacrifice living for the sake of a career To (when I'm ready ) have children, and be a good father
