Interesting Video Idea

Ok this is an idea i have had for a while but lack the means and funds to produce so i thought i'dthrow it into the open arena for otehrs to try. my idea was to put small cameras in the ends of the poi, and have the images shown side by side, it would be a real head**** but would make some really interesting watching

I think you'd get dizzy very quickly!

we tried it with a small camera - the effect works becasue we had the camera facing up the chain.......that way it remains in the whole shot giving it something constant to focus on.

But using two , id need to get another camera

hmmm the problem would come in providing viewers with enough frames per second to guage just wtf is happening on screen.

30 fps minimum camera with a slow twirling object could suffice, particularly if the camera faced the twirler as it spun, as the twirler's body could serve as a point of reference.

yes, it is an idea worthy of exploration!

how about two camera's on opposite ends of a staff?

you can spin sticks as slow as you like and using isolation and translation type moves would produce some lovely video methinks...

then you could take each vid and feed it to each eye via a pair of goggles! I can see all the viewers running to my conviently located store selling motion sickness medication

umm, could be an interesting idea , I have been trying to work out a reason to purchase that new helmet cam....

I was thinking of straping a camera to my head so people can see "what I see" when swinging poi.

That's a cool idea. Though that would need to be intercut with other footage too, as what we see isn't a patch on what the audience sees.
