Have now upgraded to faster server, Thursday 24th November 2005

FYI.

HOP will be upgrading to a much newer and faster server on Thursday (NZ time) and moving to a new IP address.
Also we will have a completely seperate backup network to connect through in case Telstra Clear have connection problems.

HOP will be shut down and then we will have to wait for DNS to update, which means HOP may be unreachable to some of you for up to 24hours.

if you don't want to miss a beat of the meg's lineage thread, you could always set the new IP in your windows\system32\etc\drivers\hosts file when the time comes, doing so wouldn't require you to wait for the DNS's propogation amongst nameservers.

I know about Telstra problem. (I think that its bad traffic shaping or massive Layer 2 h**ks) I was scared after spherculism and PIP server down.
If fact I have HOP still routed via 5 ASes and Telstra is still there. I think trans-routing via America changed...ok
We'll see, wish to all well.

have you moved outside of nz now mal, is there another larger provider in nz for your bigger bandwidth next time?
