Has anyone seen my big gay socks?

Please help me, ive lost my favourite socks. They're big and wooly and are rainbow patterned -they're my favourite big gay socks and ive lost them if anyone finds them in the following places please tell me.

Edinburgh (in various flats)
Newcastle (in my room)
London (in 2flats, the tate gallery or the national gallery or the bit of grass near a metro station)
Sheffield (see edinburgh)
Leeds (my sisters house)

the hunt is on, i would just buy new ones but my gran knitted them for me

erm i think the city okape ate them a few weeks ago and contracted gonnerhia (sp?) off of them, what were u using them for?...

you need to be a bit more specific than simply:

"in flats"

thats also tru, London is ull of flat that are full of gay socks....

I thought I found them in my girlfriends flat but she swears they're hers and her Mom bought them for her....you haven't been to Bristol lately have you?...have you?......HAVE YOU?!........hmmmmmm??

I see the problem is spreading to epidemic proportions....for ages I've been asking where all the odd socks go...and now it's happening to pairs of socks too.

There is a sock revolution happening, they are absconding will nilly and no one else seems to notice.

I think you are beyond hope at this point... sorry about that.

the thing is, aliens collect socks for a variety of puposes - collecting gentic samples for cloning of human bodies so they can infiltrate our society after transferring their conciousness to the clone (usually only requires one sock), powering their cloaking shields, which run off foot stank (so if they were dirty, then this might be why they took yours), or to keep their pasty little feet warm.

Anyway, Aliens have little or no concept as to the human fondness for their favorite pair of socks, so they are bound to snag whatever is handiest or suits their needs the best.

I swear the sock rebellion had begun this morning, I woke up to find no socks, zero. Unfortunately I then looked in the dirty linen basket and there they all were.
grumble grumble, hate washing clothes.

if aliens have them then im afraid that a universal peace is not possible. outright war must be waged ntill they are returned. plus the idea of alien pocking around in my most private of things is not one i wish to contemplate...

i took the saged advice and asked jeeves. he told me they could be found on ebay!!! this is almost more worrying, someone has found them and is trying to flog them!!!

i checked ebay and they arent there yet, i beg everyone to keep an eye out.

i do not believe my socks rebbeled against me... i use foot powder and everything, they even got washed sometimes!!!

WASHINGTON - The discovery of a pair of stretched-out socks with traces of explosives in them has prompted a government warning that al-Qaida may still be planning to use personal items to blow up a plane, according to the Homeland Security Department.

The bulletin was issued Wednesday to state and local officials, as well as federal transportation officials, said Homeland Security Department spokesman Brian Roehrkasse.

The FBI (news - web sites) also issued a circular on the subject, he said.

Roehrkasse said there is no specific intelligence information indicating the terrorist group has a plot to blow up an aircraft using socks or other personal belongings.

He declined to say where the suspicious socks were discovered, but did describe them as " large, rainbow patterned, made of wool, and very gay-looking."

But ABC News, citing an anonymous source, reported Friday that the socks were seized by British authorities in Gloucester, England, during the arrest of Sajid Badat.

Badat was arrested recenty and charged with conspiring in an explosives plot with shoe bomber Richard Reid, who is serving a life sentence for attempting to bomb an airliner in December 2001.

Roehrkasse said the bulletin issued by Homeland Security "indicated al-Qaida operatives continue to display an interest in modifying personal items for potential use as improvised explosive devices, and continue to desire to target aviation."

Transportation Security Administration screeners have already been asked to be extra alert during the holiday season, Roehrkasse said.

He said it's not known specifically what the socks may have been used for, or whether the explosive residue came from a floor or a shoe or were intended for use on someone's body.

maybe Osama bin Laden stole them to use as camoflage?
