Greetings,

I am an American poi spinner in Tokyo for a month and would love to light up. I am looking for:

1. Info on what fuels are available here and where to get them.

2. Fire community of Japan (I found one person on HOP but can't seem to get in touch)

Thanks much!

1. At your local gas station as for To-yu (Kerosene) (Symbol: 灯油)
Bring an empty can along, they will fill it up. Man-Tan = full tank

2. Very limited fire community in Japan. I have a friend in Tokyo but she only spins at parties these days and she likes to hibernate during winter. Its rather cold now, but in warmer weather you can usually find some spinners in Yoyogi-Park, nearest st: Harujuku, might be worth checking out.

Mike,

So far my experience has been that it is friggin great to live in Japan. Honestly I have too much to tell about it here, but if you check out my online journal at

ethersmith.org

you can read about it in detail. If it is not currently updated (I am having overseas networking issues) then please stay tuned. I have many images and descriptions that are backing up and I will eventually get them all online.
