Clapham Meet - First one of '05

Gathy asked me when the first Clapham is, and we talked about 1st of May?

Anyone up for it?

First Clapham of the year? 1st May. It's a Sunday with a bank holiday Monday after it, so people can play late with no excuse about work on Monday!



Ok... we meet by the bandstand, just go to the bandstand and you'll sure to see people spinning on the grass nearby. About 3pm ish

Ooooh, Ive never been to a clapham meet, can i come??

(Thats if i dont have to work, and with it being a long weekend, i think the resturant will be busy, but will see what i can do )

And infected Mushroom Are playing on the 1st and there's loads of Bristolians coming up to bounce for that so a spin before hand may mean I'll be alive for this One!

Although I think there's a synergy on the 29th so my just rest!

I'm sure i can accomodate some people...

certaintly space on a sofabed for a Flid and a Sir sheep.

And i'm sure i can find some other sleeping space for a Cantus.

I'll come if someone had a 5'4" x 2' wide piece of floor I can sleep on.

You're more than welcome to stay at mine Skully, but as a warning, i don't live that close to london... its a half hour train journey.

I'm coming down foe syngery on the 29th aswell i was gonna come back up on the sat but since its clapham meet i'll wait till monday yay im there

Greetings from the crappy Middlesex outskirts of London! I've never been to this meet, or any of the other workshops for that matter but I'm going to start at Spitz when I'm not working so late (hopefully this summer). Bank holiday weekend I may be able to make though!

I've never met you guys, so if I go i'll be the slightly awkward looking one who spins to overcome the nervousness of meeting new people. I am very friendly and don't bite, if I do turn up please come and say hello so I don't get frightened and run away! Hopefully be meeting you all soon!

Hey Tea Fairy.... Worry not about meeting us. I worried the first meet I went to but, within 2 mins of meeting some of the other HoPpers I felt right at home. We don't bite, we do share chocolate and we have fun. Come along and I promise I won't talk you to death.

Hey Tea Fairy, maybe if you introduce yourself on the introductions thread your fears might be dispelled.

On second thoughts they might be justified if you do that

- ahh sod it - so long as you say you like the colour pink and take the expression of “…I anti-hate you…” as a communication of good will you'll find that we are most welcoming here on HoP

That's a good point Mele - Pink will know. Welcome to the UK - whilst your in the UK you should go the meets outside of London as well (London smells)

can we organize a special clapham meet while lightning is in london that I can come to as well? I big one with lots of people?

guess we'll have to divine lightning's schedual first though - I know he is there till may 23 or so, but what sundays will he have free..?

yea, one pounced on us and within 30 seconds a whole group had ascended. It was like a security squad, first one then the whole lot. We were told (lectured) that we obviously didn't know it was a very important time of the year (easter) and there were people praying. All we were doing was walking around with about 50 other tourists in there at the time taking photos (if you've never been, Salisbury cathedral has a semi compulsory (supposidly voluntary) entry fee of about 8 pounds per person, with a large gift shop/cafe attached). Despite not being christian myself I almost wrote to the Bishop afterwards, it was clear discrimination/as you say 'very un-christian'. However, 'religious' people being unreligious is far beyond the scope of this thread....what was it about again?

Salisbury Cathedral is an amazing building however

I think there should be a poi in the park inside the bandstand during a massive thunderstorm
