If you're not familiar with the festival, it's Bristol's best-kept secret - a fantastic and award-winning event held every summer. The Festival has been in existence since 1974 and is the South West's largest and longest running community and multi-arts festival. Held within Bristol's beautiful Ashton Court Estate, over the two days of the event over 150 acts will take to the stage within 8 different performance areas, representing a wide variety of musical genres.

Attended over the weekend by approximately 80,000 people, the concept of the Festival is to bring together all the creative arts produced in the city in one place; to provide an event of artistic merit and high quality entertainment that develops and engages the local community.

The Ashton Court Festival is organised by Bristol Community Festival Ltd. BCF is a totally independent not-for-profit organisation, and our aim is to encourage the broadest access to the festival, regardless of age, race, class and background.

In partnership with a broad range of local promoters, the festival provides an opportunity to showcase local acts with the shared aim of presenting and developing the wealth of diverse creative talent in Bristol.

This year, the festival needs as much support as possible as it has spent the whole year trying to raise £100,000 to go ahead, coupled with licencing problems (http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/england/bristol/somerset/6261230.stm)

The exciting line up for the weekend includes some well known Bristol names such as Fortune Drive, Kid Carpet, Laid Blak, The Cedar, Crippled Black Phoenix, The She Creatures, Rose Kemp and RSVP. On Saturday, the headliners will be - The Fall, Gravenhurst, Mad Professor and Quantic DJ Set and on Sunday, the headliners will be - The Good, the Bad and the Queen (Damon Albarn, Tony Allen, Paul Simonon, Simon Tong), Enter Shikari, Horace Andy and Dub Asante Band.

Hopefully see some poiple there!
