Maori carved wooden Patu / Mere.
The Maori Mere (pronounced "mare-ray") or Patu (pronounced "par-too") was the Maori warriors weapon of choice for hand to hand combat.

	Full-sized, traditionally carved and decorated replica item - based on the local (to HoP) regional design.
	Perfect as a display item or for weilding as the maori warriors of the past.

The Maori warriors used POI to build up wrist strength to use this item in battle, so it's a great item for any POI spinner interested in the origins of the art.

This is the Patu Onewa style of Patu - one of the more typical styles chosen by the maori people. It features a flattened, elongated blade primarily designed for thrusting, with a sharp striking edge.
