This is a beautiful piece - the shape is that of an adze or blade. The basic tool with the power to craft items of beauty, shelter, or used as a weapon. The carved "koru" fern frond themed relief on the face of the adze brings the symbolism of new life and purity, also represents peace, tranquility and spirituality, along with a strong sense of regrowth or new beginnings. Together, they provide a strong symbol of the power of creation.

The jade carving is securely lashed, and the necklace cord is plaited with the two ends joined using a shell toggle.

Too large for our regular pendant case, this carving is presented in a free draw-string carry pouch.
