The Scales of Poi is geared towards intermediate to advanced Poi artists who want to take their practise to the next level, but is beneficial to beginners as well. It is a guided tour through a comprehensive system of exercises and explorations that have a very specific goal: complete freedom of movement and expression.
It shows theory aspects about planes, beat timing, direction and other ways to move your hands rather than focusing on individual moves. This means you will understand the building blocks of moves and be able to advance faster.

Reviewer: Shalanda from CanadaOk Nick is a total cutie. But for the poi: this is such a fresh video that is really going beyond the ideas I came up with thus far in my studies. He lays down all the variations that you miss, and then expands on them like crazy. And he talks a lot about how to move with your poi...I am definalty still a square. :) But really, an awesome video. I have quite a bit to learn. Nick who did what? I watched it the whole way through today but didnt have a lot of time to go through all the excercises but I think they will open a new door to my spinning and style. My girlfriend is always telling me that I need to add dance to my spinning and I think these excercises will give me just what I need to do so. I watched the whole dvd through once so far. It is very thorough, definitely covers many basics including warmup, stretching and self-care. I can't wait to practice again!
