Having always practised with fire poi and gained quite a few nasty bumps and bruises, I decided to buy some softer poi to learn with. These are quite soft and light though weighty enough to learn well with. The detchable tails look and sound great- that extra length ensures you give yourself a good margin between your body and the poi, which I found invaluable practise for fire poi. The DVD is also excellent with clear and easy-to-follow tutorials, as well as some of the most amazing videos from COL2. I'd definatly recomend these to anyone who likes using fabric poi as well as to those who prefer fire poi, because they are such good learning tools.

This was the first set of poi I had ever touched, let alone spun. Now I'm bonking myself in the head like a champ! I love the colors and the tails look awesome, though I had to take mine off because they kept wrapping around each other. But that's the beauty of detachable tails! The demonstrations and step-by-step instructions on the DVD are easy to follow and it's nice to be able to take a break and watch the people from the COL2 vids who actually *can* spin poi. This set was just what I needed to get started.

I've just started spinning and these have been perfect. They arrived in a few days to the UK, I can use them in the house without biffing too many things/people/cats and they look great outside with the tails. Plus I can shorten them for the kiddlies too... The DVD was invaluable for getting me up to scratch, can't wait now to explore all the other possibilities (COL2, what an inspiration, wow!!). Don't think this will be my last buy from HOP somehow!
