I can get it sometimes, though, and what seems to make the difference is the way I move my hand through the turns. Whenever it's swinging up as it goes behind my back, my hand just seems to do the motion right. For when it swings down (as it does at the point in the video you mention) I have to be very conscious about twisting my hand to point behind me, twisting it to point forward, and the return trip just seems to work by itself. I don't know how to describe it better than that, though.
