Start with the poi swinging on one side of the body in split time in the same direction. Instead of them wrapping and unwrapping like an airwrap, as the poi wrap, bring them through the buzzsaw plane to the other side of your body. Done correctly, the poi will untangle on their own.
There are many different ways to do this so try and learn it forwards and backwards and every which way
