Horizontal spin

These are more difficult than vertical spins as gravity does not work in helping you achieve a neat plane.

The way to achieve a horizontal spin is to hook your middle finger as you spin horizontally. In addition to this, you will need to move your hands faster to keep the fan moving against your fingers.

Dropping the fan(s) the first few times you attempt this is not uncommon. Avoid trying this on hard surfaces however!

That is really cool looking! Is it possible to do the same move with the palm facing the sky?

It is possible, but will be less forgivng as you will have gravity working against you when trying to do a fingerspin with the fan spinning above your hand and wrist. If you do not provide enough momentum it will dive downwards, hitting you. at least when the fan is underneath your arm, the worst that can happen is that it slips out of your hands and onto the ground.

With practice, however, you may be able to spin it with your palm facing upward

Redkit, I have experimented with contact palm spins and juggling-esque throws but have not got it down to a fine art as of yet for documenting. Because the weight of a fan is spread over a non symmetrical shape it is difficult to get a clean palm spin consistently
