a
=total number of circles or swings before the pattern repeats.
ie A=B+C
b
=number of circles or swings on your open side (arm at same side
of body)
c
=number of circles or swings on your crossed side (arm crossing
the body
2
Beat (1:1 count)
This is a figure eight move
where each POI does one swing on its side and then one swing on the other
side of the body.
"one circle/swing on your open side and one circle/swing on the cross
(arm crossing the body)"
3
Beat (1:2 count)
This is the weave (or chase)
where each POI does one swing on its side and two swings on the other
side of the body. See POI Weave
lesson
"one circle/swing on your open side and two circles/swings on the cross
(on the cross do one swing over your other arm and one swing under your
other arm)"
4
Beat (2:2 count)
This is similar to the (1:1
count) except instead of one swing on each side there are two swings
before crossing to the other side of the body. "The big difference is
that one POI is half a beat (half a cirlce/swing) in the sequence behind
the other. Ie One will cross the body and then 180 degrees behind that
one the other will begin crossing the body also. They each swing on the
same side for two circles and then one followed by the other will cross
the body again
5
Beat (2:3 count)
This is the weave (or chase)
where each POI does two swings on its side and three swings on the other
side of the body. See POI 5
beat weave lesson
"when you untwist your arms on the left let your left POI do an extra
revolution than the 4 beat weave and wrap your right wrist around your
left and down to the right"
